Silver Jubilee - Coach C First Open - No 1583.  This is a sketch plan of the Open First. The 8 seats on the left were non smoking.  The coat racks were above the seats and are not shown.

If you are thinking of modelling a Silver Jubilee set then some of the interior detail should be included even in 4mm scale. The colour scheme in First Class was blue whereas in Third Class it was green. The seating was individual chairs in open 1st Class coaches with loose cushions. Overhead lighting was fluorescent tubes in 1st Class but the poor old 3rd Class folk had to make do with bare bulbs !! Woodwork in First was Australian Maple and in 3rd teak. Curtains on all compartment windows. Carpeted in the appropriate class colour throughout.
