PULLMAN

The only way to travel by train in the UK was by Pullman. For sheer elegance, comfort and service there was nothing to beat it. They made, and still do make, the coaching stock used today to be austere and bare. Travel by Pullman was not just getting from A to B, it was an experience to be savoured.

Thanks to Terry Bye I had a starter for ten in the form of excellent photos. Since then I have got my hands on a couple of books full of photographs that will used as a basis for further illustrations of these wonderful coaches - from the Midland Railway through to the Brighton Belle.
