Goods Locomotive No 111 - (Jones Big Goods). Designed by Jones and introduced in 1894 these locomotives were rated the most powerful main line engines in the country and the first to have the 4-6-0 wheel arrangement. Although designed as goods locomotives they were used on passenger services. One of the class is preserved in the Glasgow Museum of Transport in an unlikely shade of yellow. I say "unlikely" as it was never painted in that colour, though other locomotives on the HR were.
